For 8 to 11 year olds:
This is a serious course book for complete beginners, but it’s fun, too. Help your child learn real English early with the help of hundreds of photos, sentences, questions and answers and fun texts. There are also 3 tests (with answers) to check your child’s progress.
There’s plenty of colour and humour to motivate your child. Even grammar can be taught in a fun way!
Book 1 – Ben enjoys his last year at primary school and starts his summer holidays. What is in the mysterious parcel and who is it from? What are Ben’s parents arguing about? And will the family ever go away on holiday?
Book 2 – Ben and his parents travel to Scotland. Why do they go camping in the middle of nowhere? Can a boy from London wear a kilt at the Highland Games? And what does Ben find out about his own family?
Book 3 – Ben finally starts secondary school and faces new challenges. Does he win the school photo competition? Do his parents survive his first attempt at making a family meal? And what happens when he breaks a school rule and ends up in the Headteacher’s office?
For teenagers (and adults):
This is a book for intermediate learners who want to improve their non-fiction comprehension and vocabulary. The book is written in reasonably easy English, and there are lots of challenging language activities to test your child’s comprehension and to help them to learn from the vocabulary and grammar used in the book. There are helpful word lists too.
The book is researched and written by me (not by AI!) and I hope your child finds the topics as interesting as I did. This is a large book, and every topic gets 1 or 2 pages. There are lots of colour illustrations – mainly photos – to add interest and help your child learn.
And lots more…
These realistic, interesting and sometimes funny dialogues will encourage discussion and help students to speak everyday English more confidently and fluently.
